If Dems don't start listening to the message Schultz is delivering here, they will only further see their blue collar base erode.
That's the crux of the issue, isn't it? The party leadership has gone so far to the left that they are losing touch with the people who have voted for them in the past.
Which is fine with me, as I think it will bring them to ruin. The flip side is, they will still win some elections and we will have to deal with the consequence of that. It would be better for everyone if their party wanted to govern with at least a limited degree of sanity.
It's amazing how quickly things can turn around though. After 2008 it seemed as though Republicans would be unelectable for a generation, and yet they regained the legislature and executive quickly. If anything this is a lesson that unopposed power leads to bad policies, corruption, and cronyisms. We should desire competetive elections and parties with sane policies.
Why do you think they are pushing so hard to get illegals voting?
They are trying to import as many people at the bottom as possible, promise them giveaways and freebies for their votes, and use that to cling to power.
It worked for Tammany Hall for decades, and again in the 60's to wedge blue collar workers (inherently conservative) away from the new conservative Republican party of Goldwater et al.
Wow. Sounds like someone I could vote for.
I remember that clip where Hillary was talking about capitalism and how it hurt her. She isn't wrong. The Bern Bots don't want to hear about that. Sander's vision of America isn't American. Overwhelmingly Americans don't want that. They might accept it if you introduce it piece by piece like Obama was doing, but you can't straight up advocate for it like Bernie.
If Dems don't start listening to the message Schultz is delivering here, they will only further see their blue collar base erode.
