I don't prescribe to bullshit or what's obviously in the interest of the rich... seems like two united states circle jerks are going to gyrate until the world hears their pleas.... States aren't united they're kind of a joke when you switch your lenses....

people like to say the silent majority is on one side or the other but really it is centrist and moderate. whether you are pulling tens of thousands to rallies, polling great numbers, or have a meme generating army at your disposal, only a tiny sliver of the population is being represented vocally. i'm confident that the voices that seek to tear the union asunder will continue to fall on deaf ears and the reactionary seesaw that is american politics will continue until a third party gains momentum, allowing a centrist party.

My interest in US politics completely disappeared during the election campaign. Since then I have been trying as hard as I can to avoid anything political on the internet, which is almost impossible.

Even if Voat didn't have the hate sub influx, I think the level of political discussion would have killed my interest anyway.

Because civilization has advanced and left and right don't have their clear positions anymore, which they had 200 years ago.

It's no longer about who sits where in the cabinet. It's no longer a battle about communists versus capitalists.

The important matters have changed, but the parties didn't adopt. Definitions have adopt as well, it's now ok to call yourself liberal and ask for more regulation.

And most politicians are old people who ignore the past few decades, that's (part of) why they make themselves retarded.

I'm just really, really tired of having discussions based on "the camp" people are in instead of the issues and facts at hand.....

I'm also glad I'm not a Murican.
