I don't connect my TV or receiver to the Internet. It's pretty easy to run LibreELEC/Kori on a Pi4 and it can output 4K/HDR (Pi4+LibreELEC is sadly the only Linux device+OS that can do HDR. No HDR support in Wayland/mpv/amdgpu/nvidia yet).

Thankfully the HDMI over Ethernet standard never really became a think, so I don't have to worry about something leaking Internet to a device I don't want it to. I don't understand why people feel the need to connect everything they own to the Internet. I don't get why people are okay with Amazon/Google/Apple spy devices in their house listening to their ever command.

I don't get why everyone needs to connect to the internet either. You know how easy it is to get up and adjust the thermostat? Takes fucking seconds to do, and when the internet goes out, my shit still works.
