Yeah. The biggest real issue is that the TV makers themselves spy on the user, injecting ads based on what they record had already been watched. To date, there haven't been any instances of hackers, outside of TV makers and their "partners" spying on viewers. But, it's possible.

Yeah, likely because the payoff is not worth the effort of hacking these devices. My concern is much around my data being used as a targeted marketing tool.
