Seconds, minutes.

Everywhere is within walking distance if you have the time.

before the days of high speed motorised travel, a common distance between towns in a peaceful area was about ten to twelve miles.

This is based on the idea that the farthest practical distance from town to trade or go to market was about 5 miles. you wanted enough time to go to town, do your business, and return home. 5 miles meant this could be down by horse and wagon, or even by simply waking

Drivers would remove the spent "rust" liquid using a withdrawal nozzle at the pump.

I'm sure that stuff is perfectly safe and environmentally friendly. My normal batteries have sulfuric acid in them. I'm sure spent "battery rust" is perfectly safe!

This would be a great innovation. Charging my Tesla takes 20 mintues.
