If Microsoft forces this in the next big Windows OS, I'm quitting them forever and using Ubuntu instead. Either that, or I'll try to stay on Windows 10 as long as possible.

Shit doesn't even surprise me anymore. What does surprise me is its not happening sooner.

I see a lot of people, especially non gamers, switching to Linux and Mac if they do it.

I've gone the opposite direction, I'm running Win10 LTSB that is completely stripped down to the bare minimum. No store, no Cortana, no notification center, no advertising, and the best part: it only updates when I tell it to. It's great, it's basically windows 7.5.

Now I will say, vanilla LTSB is still LOADED with bloatware, spyware, and ads. I had to spend HOURS editing my group policies, but I've got it set perfectly now and it only does what I tell it to. It's great.

Sounds like a lot of work. I prefer the ease and freedom that came with ditching Windows.

I just got back from Ubuntu. It's so sluggish compared to OSX or Windows on the same hardware that it doesn't even compare. Also my sound card drivers just randomly died one day and after about an hour of apt-get reinstalling alsa and trawling Stackoverflow I just said fuck it. Basically as of right now, all three major OS'es are steaming piles, and Windows LTSB with a bunch of GPOs is the shortest pile.
