The surprise announcement came on Wednesday evening, when the UK-based Cambridge Anal.

They really, REALLY should have abbreviated that some other way.

"Over the past several months, Cambridge Analytica has been the subject of numerous unfounded accusations and, despite the company’s efforts to correct the record, has been vilified for activities that are not only legal, but also widely accepted as a standard component of online advertising in both the political and commercial arenas," the biz said in its blame-shifting sign-off.

It's very strange how those same practices were ok when it was benefiting "left-leaning", "democrat", whatever they are types but when their political opponents do the same thing, and do it better, it's suddenly the most horrible thing ever and needs to be shutdown.

Not that I hate the increased focus on privacy laws, but we all know it's only an important issue so that they can avoid a similar situation like the 2016 election from happening again, not because they care about the privacy of the common man.
