Such an interesting article! I really enjoying reading about this kind of stuff.

I showed Alia Janine, a retired porn performer who was in the sex industry for 15 years, the video of Gadot. “It’s really disturbing,” she told me over the phone. “It kind of shows how some men basically only see women as objects that they can manipulate and be forced to do anything they want... It just shows a complete lack of respect for the porn performers in the movie, and also the female actresses.”

That's pretty rich. What if it was a woman doing this to change a male actor's face to a Gerard Butler or something? Is she only seeing the men as objects then? I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth, but I expect there would be a different tune being sung. Also, people have been photoshopping faces onto porn photos for years to make it seem like their favorite whoever is in whatever picture. Does something need to be done about that, too?

Also, your fantasy life is your own, and does not imply anything about you as a person. Everyone has their own kinks, fetishes, perversions, and whatever else going on with them sexually. From the mundane to the exotic, sexual proclivities run the gamut. And as long as you are able to distinguish fantasy from reality, I don't see any problem with people indulging in their particular kinks, provided they aren't hurting anyone else to do so. Hell, we all have heard a story before about a couple or whomever doing bondage play or whatever, going a bit too far, and someone suffocating to death as a result; it's a tragedy and terrible, but it's also obvious it was an accident - and that the more dangerous thing would be trying to stop it in the name of "protecting people".

At any rate, technologies advancing like this will also add fuel to the fire of "fake news". In a few years, if you can create a "video" of someone doing something that can be faked - at least well enough so that it takes time to prove it is a fake - you'll be able to make accusations about individuals and with "video proof", you can make the outrage overwhelming and immediate. No one will care if, 5 days later, an independent agency figures out that the video was falsified; by then, the damage will be done.
