My understanding is that the only thing that would make people put aside racial and ideological differences is threat of annihilation as a species. Such as an alien invasion. That being said I hope America could overcome that weakness and nuke China as well as the ships.

Cool ... a lot of work to relay any info back. I doubt the US or USSR had the kinda technology needed back in the day. But quite an accomplishment if China can pull it off.
