I mean, yeah. Stupid people and people who believe in whatever the prevailing narrative is even if it's wrong get their space. People who don't believe in <whatever> or kick back against online abuse by moderators get angry. It's not the users to blame, it's the admins/mods.

Banning is okay. If they have go elsewhere to display their toxicity, that's fine.

That's just it though. It doesn't start as being "toxic." It starts by having a different opinion. It starts by being denied the same space as the stupid people and the people who have a hivemind. It starts by having a group of people who are so butthurt by those differing opinions or beliefs that they whine and cry and then screech until they get them banned. Or until the doxx them and get them fired from a real life job because of "different-think."

And it's not a "display." It's a release and meeting with other people who not only have the same views but also have the same level of anger.

And then they see attitudes like yours. Don't get me wrong, I get what you're saying and I completely understand not only your sentiment but where you come from to get to that point. But the issue with what you just said is that it shows that you are so far off in another part of the political or social spectrum that you display as completely incapable of understanding them or anything that "different-think" positions as.

These actions, these indifferences, these bannings, these "you don't deserve even the same air as me" is what causes the toxicity to ramp up and it's just as much to blame as anyone else.

And what's worse is that when someone comes along and actually tries to get people to understand it, they are (at best) dismissed or (more likely) treated exactly like one of those exiled people.

It's no wonder that people are polarized. It's not social media that's splitting people and society. It's people who think it's okay to have people with "different-think" punished and the response of being toxic isn't because they are toxic people. The response of being toxic is anger and a technique to be so vile that the people who would come in and take over and push them out (because they've done it before) are so offended that they say exactly what you just said. It's how they maintain their own safe space from being attacked online or by various SJW style tactics. They know that these people who ran them off before can't handle it like it's some kind of hazing ritual that never ends. They know that saying the worst possible things makes them literally sick to their stomachs. THAT'S what the toxicity is.

So maybe if the people who pushed them out in the first place would just... stop... people might actually learn to get along like they did in the early days of the internet where people would debate and walk away a little better.

It's obvious though if you're not caught up in either of the hivemind mentalities that infect both groups. And it is an infection because it's extremely contagious because it's based in rage.

I think you went way too far in ascribing my motivations.

I don't like people who are intentionally disruptive. I don't like haters and people who profess hate.

So, no. Ban them. Send them to Coventry.
