Yeah, and the diet changed from protein and fat to sugar and wheat about 40 years ago.

Humans have eaten large amounts of grains and wheat since 11000 years ago. Bread has been a staple since 5000 years ago and possibly much earlier, with grinding stones dating to 30000 years ago.

The paleolithic diet has a cool story but the anthropological evidence does not support it.

Stress. It explains the skyrocketing obesity, diabetes, cardiac disease, anxiety and depression rates, erectile dysfunction, libido issues, low sperm quantity and quality, even IBS.

Interestingly, the stress may be a result of inequality. There is a clear causal link from social position to levels of stress hormones- the lower your social position the more stressed you are.
