There may be more dogs that will be rescued. The owner has property in another county that has hundreds of dogs supposedly. She was arrested on the 2nd and Candler County already had a lawsuit against her in civil court. Local news stations (Savannah is closer, WSBTV is in Atlanta) have hinted that she was known by authorities but they haven't been able to bust her until now.
This is the second big story to come out of Candler County in the last couple weeks, they also found three bodies at a recycling center. Oddly enough no foul play was involved in that case, bodies were from a funeral home that had a shed cleaned out. Apparently they either "John Does" or the families couldn't afford burial and the funeral home forgot they were in the shed.
Also the second county involved has been a shit show the past couple years with officials being arrested for breaking into the sheriffs office the night he died in a car chase. Apparently he had some investigations that were being secretly conducted.
