The magic is in their restraint during position and ability to read. At a final table luck is always a huge factor and you must appreciate it. You can take down a pro if you aren't readable and play good hands or even retarded ones off position once you reach the final table. Luck is a big part of the game but grinding is what sets them apart in big tourneys. They need the read (pros), or it's just a game of dice. I haven't put any more in and my chips were getting significant so I got the boot... I believe if you aren't losing enough they'd rather have you banned. Haven't talked any shit since my last post just randomly got the ban and waiting on those nugget horders. UK guy lost to me 3 times since without convo and here we are... wtf

i have a tendency to fall ass backwards into winning poker games. i'll go all in for no reason on a pair of 4s to pick up the antes or take on anyone with the balls to call and i'll make grandiose claims about having a straight, show that i have exactly what i claimed i had except i actually have a flush i didn't notice that beats the other person's straight. in my little experience, i found asymmetrical warfare to be the best strategy. for some reason people don't like to play with me.

I get that. People don't like to lose when they claim they're good... Even a broken clock... plus luck... people are too competitive and even when you can a bluff with J6 (I call that and lower jack shit) they get mad that you called... what's the deal? you knew you'd win

I disagree. Luck is always a factor, but there is more to it. A good pro can consistently make money even when playing online or against unreadable strangers. That wouldn't be true if it was just dice.
With an understanding of statistics, and self restraint, no 'good luck' is required.

Getting a read will make it more profitable, and allow a more aggressive approach, but there are still other factors.

I started playing again, sort of. Pokerstars was blowing up my junkmail account with various promotions to get me back. I ignored them until I saw one that was giving me free money with no strings.
It was only $3 but after a couple mtts, its now around $25. I'm not sure if I will play much anymore, but I'll leave the account open for times I feel like playing.

I'm talking once you're nine handed. And against bittys that think they're the best... they get real awful when you don't play their way. It's not so much that they grind well but that you upset the algorithm in their thought of how poker is played. and good for you it's nice to see another player... I'm banned atm and only after my power went out and came back on I got this notice that my account was banned... I caution you because they are fraudulent and ban accounts they don't like... it's like fulltilt 2012-2013 drama all over again

edit: I remember the shutting off thing being a trick but it was a long time ago to get extra time... I was leading with kings and was pissed my power fluctuated ... still haven't heard back from them its been three days
