Do you find a comparably sized child to practice with? Do you toss your child in a padded room to begin with? I feel it would be reckless to toss your own child before you know you're good at it.

Just let them drop when you can't catch them. Sooner or later they have to learn they can't trust you.

I find that it's easier to replace a broken baby than finding a trainer-baby.
Just go ahead and toss the little one around. You'll drop and break a few while learning, but its only the cost of a six-pack to make a new one.

Just find a random little person and toss them up in the air to practice. They love it. No need to ask, just grab and throw.
