I took in an old childhood family friend because that's what you do when family friends need help.

Ended up kicking his alcoholic self out but somewhere along the way, he absolutely ruined my queen bed I let him use.

So when I packed up his junk, I pack up the bed, too.

I slept on my standby twin that I bought used back in the mid 90s. I slept on it again because it was the frugal thing to do. But I was getting tired of having such a tiny thing especially if I ever decide to entertain lady friends.

So I bought a queen Luma Sleep mattress with a soft topper. Also got a $500 frame because it's a classic style and looks great.

And amazingly, it doesn't hurt my back.

Curious how he ruined the bed. Peeing/puking on it, cutting holes in it for masturbation, jumping on it, etc?

  1. Spilling alcohol and soda all over it. Repeatedly.
  2. His dogs kept relieving themselves on it.
  3. He chain smoked on it from the time he woke up to the time he went to bed.

Some people might pay good money for a dog pee and Mr. Pibb-soaked mattress with several cigarette burns
