I wondered why they even needed to take it. Now they have abandoned it. Waste of lives

I've read in a couple places that it's believe they took radioactive material away from the site. I haven't seen credible sources say anything more than that.

That was an insane thing to do. The safety protocols for the workers there are well-known and were enacted to keep from killing them all. The troops they brought out of there should be mostly dead by now, or they soon will be.

I do know from a documentary there they had to wear sensors to walk around there, no less dig. It's a huge human rights violation that they made their soldiers do that and it must really hurt moral.

They also confined over 100 Ukraine personnel in too an small area during their occupation.

The Soviets are pigs. Those conscripts are glow in the dark corpses.
