I don't think anyone's calling it fun; we've been pretty fed up with war in the Middle East for a while now. One of Obama's promises was leaving Afganistan, IIRC, and he had much of the same "we need to finish what we started" stances later.
But we've only seen how career politicians and diplomats handle foreign interventions, and we're pretty sure that the last 50 years have proven they don't do a good job of it. There are no real experts. So now we're curious to see what the businessman's approach would be and whether that works better.
