Dutch Defense Minister Ank Bijleveld said that the GRU’s alleged hacking attempts on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons took place in April and were disrupted by authorities. Four Russian intelligence officers were immediately expelled from the Netherlands, she said.
Speaking about Russia’s hacking attempts into the MH17 crash investigation, she said: “We have been aware of the interest of Russian intelligence services in this investigation and have taken appropriate measures.”

Is it weird i'd be shocked if this wasn't true? I'd love to read about one of our cyber attacks in the news sometime. Supposedly the US doesn't engage in such activities. Surely one of these honorable news organizations would have turned up evidence if we did...

Indeed... yet. I only read about our enemies cyber attacks these days. The most fascinating bit about a good vpn service is reading their local news after you remote into their country. Everyone's got their own propaganda but it's an interesting look at what comes from both sides your average internet user in any country fails to see. No wonder there are lobbies against encryption.
