I often wonder if this kind of stupidity, where people get so violent over the smallest things has always happened and we just didn't have 24/7 news that focused on it ... or if there are more in society now who've completely gone over the edge of what used to be called civil behavior. I suspect it's a little of both.

People may have been more apt to handle it themselves in the past too. Why call the cops? Kick the shit out of the offender and throw them outside.

This is very true and a good point to ponder. In fact, in most places, like the area I grew up, we had very minimal police presence. Our Sheriff Andy and Deputy Barney didn't even exist ... we had a cop who worked part time on weekends - LOL.

On this same note ... it always amazes me how quickly folks are to dial 911 over the most trivial nonsense most would've likely ignored back before the system existed.

I only call when McDonald's runs out of chicken nuggets. Other than that, I'm good.
