This worries me. A critical battery failure is always something I think about. While rare and usually not this severe (this is the first death, after all), the possibility of needing massive reconstructive surgery from my vape mod makes me question if maybe I should try and quit entirely.
The batteries for my oil are much smaller and probably wouldn't kill me if they exploded, but my E-cig might. Its aluminum body could shrapnel through my face in an instant and I'd be powerless to do anything about it.
I'm also the same age as the victim on this one.
