This almost reads like a Python sketch, start by banning guns (most are like, well okay yeah), next knives (less people are into it but some agree), next pointed sticks, and suddenly someone is coming at you with a handful of raspberries shouting Allah Ackbar and you don't know how to defend yourself.

I agree. It's as I always say, gun, knives, whatever, these are symptoms of societal ills, not inanimate objects. There are no easy answers like new laws that will solve it.
