It looks like they made an agreement with Russia not to fight them in Syria anymore. Russia still supports Assad and The US-coalition supports the Kurds in the north.
It also looks like Assad's troops currently focus on ISIS and fights fewer against other rebel groups.

So I'm a little confused at this point.
Does the American military consider this a win or a loss?
When Obama was in, it seemed clear that they preferred Isis over Assad. But now that Trump is in, it's less clear.
