What deal are you talking about? I missed that music news. I have noticed that a couple of very famous artists/bands stuff seems suddenly available though, its good.
For years, there were lawsuits from several bands, and McCartney, to extend copyrights beyond the time limit. It also involved how those rights worked between the US and the UK. It was set so that the exclusive rights on music from about 50 years ago (can't remember exactly) would expire and the music could be shared openly. McCartney and Sony (who had bought the Beatles rights from M Jackson) tried to extend it, but finally reached an agreement earlier this year that finally opened the rights up some and that's why we can see these now.
Ah that's excellent. I understand the artist wanting to protect their income/rights but it stops many many people from hearing the music. A good compromise.
Isn't it great that copyright deal worked out and now we get to have these on the 'net. So much good music, they were absolute geniuses.
