that rig has a ton of side to side thrust capability however those boats provide a sort of front and back thrust. They're there only for positioning and extra stability. it's like docking to a space station, you need angles to properly position your rig, and in this case it's a buttload of tons... 90k plus. So if they do it with only one front tug it's because they've got bad ass rudders to stabilize.
