When the infrared remote finally happened I was a happy boy. I member watching black and white TV with radio buttons that I had to press .

Buttons?
By the time I had buttons I had a pseudo-remote. A box that sat on the table with buttons for the channels, and a cord that ran to the receiver on the TV.

I just had these big off-white peices of plastic were by if you pushed one the other pushed one popped back out. Damn I'm old...

That is the primary reason my parents had me.
If they'd had a remote, and someone to mow the lawn, I would not exist.

Yeah, every hour and sometimes during commercials. I just sat next to the tv on football sunday lol

I remember when our channel changer knob broke and we had to use pliers. I miss the good old days.
