I guess it's not a big surprise, it already happened once before. Which is why I still used imgur on Voat.

There never was an explanation. It suddenly stopped working, and the Slimg guys reached out to rehost the images themselves.

I think that the guy maintaining it simply decided that it wasn't worth it anymore.

I always thought it was dumb how much people pushed for the use of slimg. Yeah, I used it, but only because I never really liked imgur. I'm kinda glad to see it go, and watch all the idiots scramble to find a new hosting site that meets all the proper political criteria.

Ehh, not really with you for this argument. I also had situation where my favourite image hosting site went belly up. RIP img.bi.
