Voat at the beginning: "We love free speech"

There was a fairly popular post there yesterday where a long time user asked "DAE tired of voat being criticized for not having free speech."
Many of the responses were something like "I can say nigger = free speech", nevermind that many users get heavily restricted and banned temporarily after ten posts, and now you can't post/comment at all if below 10 CCP.
Voat is a disgrace and a bad joke.
Sad, because it really has the potential to be so much more. It has the beginnings of a substantial number of users, and I think a lot of users there do care about free speech, but they are apathetic or ignorant about the censorship that goes on there.
Of course bringing it up in posts/comments is probably the best way to get censored on voat due to the fact that there is a significantly large group of people on voat who wish to keep it an echo chamber. This bad element has duped puttitout, or he is one of them, still haven't figured that part out.
The shitification of voat is accelerating. Fake news it regularly upvoated to the top. Paedo subs are numerous, despite the heavy traffic in the pizzagate subs.
It's all very disheartening.

I'm having trouble seeing that as a bad thing.
Adding the script-writing and production value of holywood to porn sounds good to me.
Or would they prefer to stick to their wholesome, morally acceptable, ultra-violent, regular programming?
