There are only two "Tau" I know of -
This race from the Warhammer 40K universe (basically the mecha race who focuses on ranged combat, unlike almost everyone else).
The other is "Tau Alpha C" (or Tau Ceti depending on which episode you reference), a planet in Star Trek canon that a being known as "The Traveler" is from.
