Replace the pelmet(s) I took off. Here's some context for that mistake. https://phuks.co/s/LifeTips/40840

Bought a blockout blind for $60AUD reduced from $140AUD to replace the venetian blind.

Bought a blockout curtain to go in front of the blind - $38 reduced from $135. The other room I bought curtains from the op/thrift store but I wanted a specific color in this room and those curtains go like wildfire once they are put on the rack. I was quoted $480 minimum to have the curtains cut down by the store so they wouldn't interfere with the heater under the window but took it to an old lady in a sewing shop and she did it for $30.

Bought 3 two-sided door snakes for around $10 each and 5 door seals for $8 each.

The heater I got lucky with and bought sometime earlier. It's a unit that sells for up around $2000-3000 plus installation and I had a friend who knew someone who pulled two out that were a year old but were being replaced with reverse cycle. He used one himself and sold me the other for $300. To install was $350 with the plumber also spending an hour chasing down a small gas leak and fixing it.

Future improvements are going to be insulation under the floorboards and the summer job of resealing the window glass properly with putty. I also need to get some velcro strips to keep the sides of the curtain close to the wall.
