1960's talk show host Joe Pyne was known for his caustic and confrontational style (even the Tucker Carlson's of today can barely hold a candle to the man). Pyne would invite guests on simply to insult them personally and ridicule their ideas.

Some people claimed that Pyne's acid personal style was partially caused by a leg amputation that had embittered him to life..

One of Pyne's most famous guests was a young Frank Zappa who would prove quite memorable

One evening rock musician Frank Zappa was a guest on the show this was at a time in the sixties when very long hair on men was still unusual and controversial. As soon as Zappa was introduced and seated, the following exchange occurred:

Pyne: I guess your long hair makes you a girl. . Zappa: I guess your wooden leg makes you a table

Bonus: Here's a video of the Joe Pyne show (I could not find the Zappa footage though) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLYYIh8uEo0
