A young FDR steals the Kaiser's pencil.

>By chance, in 1901, [Roosevelt](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/1944_portrait_of_FDR_%281%29%28small%29.jpg) actually met [the Kaiser](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/48/German_emperor_Wilhelm_II%28cropped%29%281%29.jpg). At nineteen, he and his mother were sailing the Norwegian fjords when they encountered Wilhelm II’s gleaming white yacht *Hohernzollern* and were invited aboard for tea.
