Once Groucho Marx was walking down State Street in Chicago and a middle-aged couple came up and began circling him. They went around him two or three times, inspecting him carefully, and then the wife said hesitantly, “You’re him, aren’t you? You’re Groucho?”

Groucho nodded.

Then she touched him shyly on the arm and said, “Please don’t die. Just keep on living.”
