The WWI "Destroy This Mad Brute" poster is one of my favorite pieces of art, I'd like to have a frame print someday.
Yeah, I kind of wonder why they made that choice. Also the face of a mandrill is somewhat surreal as a representation.
I missed that the helmet says "militarism". Some may have said, "well, what's wrong with the Germans?" and they're saying the militaristic culture makes them "beasts".
When you see the anti Jap propaganda of WWII, it's seems to be highlighted as being racist, even though the caricatures would be equivalent, maybe without the caveat of "culture"... ramble ramble
