Safer substitutes have been used for the more dangerous plastic precursors over the years. If things ara so horrible, how come people that grew up with excessive low molecular weight, more volatile, plasticers, like di-butyl pthaltate, used in vinyl live decades longer than their ancestors? Epoxy precursors that mimic hormones were phased out decades ago and are used primarily where there is no change of human consumption, like electronic motherboards.
