In wake of two separate videos shared across social media that show two visitors touching endangered Hawaiian monk seals, Gov. David Ige warned tourists anyone who touches or disturbs the seals “will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

They'd think twice if someone whacked their knuckles with a wooden architect's ruler. That'll will break them of their touchy-feely tendency really quickly.

I propose allowing locals to take selfies and touch tourists when they lounge on beaches or when feeding in restaurants.

As long as I'm not in the tourist column, I don't mind. After all, I have a permanent Oahu address and I pay property taxes.
