SPANISH football giants Real Madrid are dropping the traditional Christian cross from their crest on sportswear sold in the Middle East to avoid offending Muslim fans.
The move comes as part of a deal with UAE retail group Marka which has won exclusive rights to "manufacture, distribute and sell Real Madrid products" in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
It's insanity but atleast its only a local measure. Being offended by a christian symbol but demanding all kinds of respect for Islam is dubious at best.
