They figured out a long time ago that amongst themselves, being offended was a passive-aggressive way to force like-minded people to change who they were. It doesn't work on anyone outside that mindset and circle, however, so all they do is doubling down and increasing the "I'm offended" level as if it's supposed to do something. They found that being offended in their own circles was so effective that they forgot or never learned how to debate, challenge, work with people, explain why, talk, and so on.

it's too bad you're offended, mkay, we don't care that your offended. We care maybe why you're offended but being offended isn't enough to convince me to change myself. You need to explain why changing myself is beneficial to me.
