Corporate America is indeed broken. I applaud Pocahontas Warren for introducing legislation attempting to fix it, creating discussion at the very least. However, I don't think this is the right step to fix it.

Cheap labor hurts American wages. We have let corporations have too much say on immigration policies. Reduce illegal and legal immigration to drive up wages. Everyone claims this will increase costs, maybe, but it could also reduce the obscene compensation packages of top execs and funnel some of that money back to the workers.

Artificial barriers into the market kills competition. Stop crony capitalism. Quit the regulations, taxes, and licenses which create an environment where only the mammoth companies can afford to do business.

If we do these two things and we still don't see the market moving in the right direction, then I'd be more willing to look at proposals like Warren's.

wage leveling can be traced back to NIxon in the early 1970s. there are changes in regulations at that time that probably sounded good, but in the long run screwed things up.

I need to research this more
