My mom has been having some pretty bad upper respiratory issues for a few weeks now and has been tested twice because of that. She is in her late 60's and they gave her steroids and an antibiotic as treatment for her respiratory issues. The hospitals did not admit her, which I guess is a good sign for now. She initially went to an Urgent Care facility, and after listening to her lungs they refused to treat her and made her go to the ER, which ended up just keeping her outside in a triage tent for 8 hours or so before sending her home.
I am a bit worried because she is currently staying with my dad (late 70s) and my brother (recently had radiation treatment for cancer), so I guess we can assume that they all may be infected, even though my brother and dad have no symptoms at the moment. My mom has been sick for a good 3 weeks straight now, but is doing a bit better than she was a few days ago...but that may just be the steroids.
We'll see how this goes.
If she has been sick for three weeks then that's probably a sign that it is just some other respiratory issue. Symptoms are supposed to deteriorate or clear up before three weeks pass.
