Been a little while since I played, but I used to be half-way decent at Chess. Wouldn't mind a few games here and there to challenge myself some again.
Best method for me: If we can arrange a time, I have Tabletop Simulator on Steam, which comes standard with a chess game. Combine with a discord chat and we can chat and play the night away. Best time for me right now are probably midnight to 4 am US Central time (GMT -6); that's when I get off work and my wife is usually asleep by around 12 or 12:30.
There is also a website called Board Game Arena, which is fairly legit for lots of games, but also Chess. It's a decent way to arrange a game with someone in particular. I think there's a sign-up process, but it's been a while since I was on.
I'm not aware of too many good ways to meet up and play with a specific person outside of that. If someone has a suggestion, I am down for it.
I'm down. I recommend either chess.com (lots of players but the navigation is outdated and confusing) or lichess.org. Both have mobile apps too so that makes it easy.
But you name the time and place and I'll be there - with a little notice of course.
