I'm in the middle of a huge 4-week long reconstruction project and went through extensive measures to actually have a single room that I could keep the cats in, and one of my cats figured out how to open the door. I'd barricade it naively, but I need to constantly use that door to leave and piss and eat and go to work, so now I gotta do do temp barricades every time I enter or leave. Annoying.

No i can't replace the handles, I'm renting. I'm asking tho if I can buy and replace them.

if they're round get a child lock handle... My rottie figured out how to open the round ones... if they're the other latch type find an appropriately sized stick and put in under the door handle once you've closed it. Or buy a 10 dollar handle with a lock, just make sure the dimensions are about the same... most stores will let you return them if they don't fit, walmart would for sure

I think I'll just try the stick idea, trying to wedge something under it. That's probably the easiest idea for the handle door thingy
