The article doesn't seem to say it but it sounds like they went out of bounds.
That happens here more often than is publicized. Usually they just get lost or hurt, but sometimes killed.
Anywhere the province puts 'Danger stay out' signs, people will go.

A lot of our tax dollars get burnt up in search and rescue of 'adventure tourists'.
I'm ok with people risking their lives, if they would first sign a waiver showing that they understand the risk, and they will not be rescued.
Otherwise, stick to the fucking trail!

^ few years back 2 Dutch girls went missing in Panama. They decided to go off track on a jungle trail.... Modern people are not aware of dangers or dangerous situations at all anymore. It's basic Darwinism though, lack of common sense gets you killed.
