i was thinking about how to make this work in a way that doesn't impact next year's season. best i can come up with is sequestering the divisions for a 6 week round robin in february or march, one location for each division, rosters restricted to like 40 players, upperclassmen only with waivers for some underclassmen for starters or in position groups with too few players. then, like a month later, have the teams that placed the same in their divisions play with the better of the teams getting to play at home. gives teams the opportunity to have a normalish regular season and play hard for a home bowl-ish game at the end of the season. totally ignores the rest of the leagues but i'm not sure i'd count a national championship from some weird rules spring league anyway.

What happens if the ACC, Big 12, and SEC play this fall? ACC and SEC have already said they are still planning to play this fall

i wouldn't be surprised if nebraska left or tried to leave permanently and iowa left for a season.

If Nebraska were to leave, what's to stop Penn State and Ohio State from following suit? May see an exodus of players and/or coaches if Big 10 and Pac 12 played their cards too early.
