I looked at it briefly. I checked there for cool stuff, currency exchanges and hardware, but didn't find what I wanted.
At the moment the selection is pretty limited, and I wouldn't be fully confident using it. All of the stuff I have bought with bitcoin has been on sites that have large vendor fees, which kind of guarantees that you aren't going to be scammed because it would be too expensive to fuck someone over for it to be worth it.
I hope it takes off, but at the moment I am skeptical.
Just saw this post as I've been thinking about getting some bitcoin. I came across openbazaar a couple of weeks ago and it was this that got me interested in bitcoin. I refuse to open a paypal account and want to sell some stuff so openbazaar loks like a good idea. Anyone bought or sold anything there?
I just ended up there by chance.
It looks like they have had a massive upgrade since the last time I looked at it. The design is way cleaner and they are accepting a shit ton of currencies now. Sellers receive payment in Bitcoin no matter what the buyer is using, which I suspect is going to drive prices up on there because the Bitcoin transaction fees are fucking ridiculous at the moment. Cool though.
I had high hopes, but haven't checked in on it in a while.
