@cddanger, a father's realtionship to his daughter is tricky. If you're too authoritarian you can damage what you have together. Kids alway need a firm hand, guidance, and love. When they get out of balance, bad things happen. Kids feel frustration and stress more than you do and aren't as well equipped to handle it. You need to be wise about choosing battles and when you need to draw a line in the sand. They better be drop-dead life issues and not differing tastes in cartoons. Anime has as many flavours as any entertainment genre. Pick an age demographic and you can find anime for it. School girl anime covers elemenatry school on up. Girls watching get crushes on the handsome boys or may have hero worship for on of the girls. I'm not an experienced parent, but I'm not that long out of my teens.
