I can't count the times I've watched Christmas Vacation with my family. I've seen it at least once/year since it came out on VHS, often times more than once/year due to visiting different sides of the family. In fact, several of the Christmas gifts I'm giving this year are Christmas Vacation themed. I got a Christmas Vacation thermos mug last year (which is pretty great actually), brother got a moose head mug the year before that, etc.

I don't know if I've ever made it through The Star Wars Holiday Special.

I have two recommendations on the opposite way of the spectrum.

  • Joyeux Noel, a film about Christmas spirit in the trenches of western front in 1914.
  • Santa's Slay, a "so bad it is good" movie about killer Santa Claus.

Has to be National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It's so damn quotable.

they tend to be something i avoid at all costs but home alone 2 is sometimes what i'm left with at family get togethers. i'll have to check out joyeux noel, i've seen numerous documentaries about christmas during ww1 and 2 but dont think i've seen that.

A Muppet Christmas Carol is the only acceptable answer. Michael Caine's finest work!

Jingle all the way is the only acceptable answer!
