interesting, I was looking for a noob-friendly linux laptop to replace my aging MacBook. I'll have to look more into this linux-fork PureOS, but it looks pretty good. Thanks. We will have to see how the phone turns out, but I got to believe there is a pretty good market for that type of phone.

Purism also makes laptops which I think have hardware switches for camera and mic but you'll have to check on it.They are pretty expensive though. If you don't care about that the the cheapest and best option is to just buy any laptop and wipe the drive to install whatever you want.

I would like one but I think there will be too much demand for it. Unfortunately, Australia often has dodgy import companies act as legal scalpers to price gouge on shit like this as well, so any sort of warranty is up in the air. I'm not sure it will work in Australia yet as apparently different carriers use different frequencies to transmit on.

So my hopes aren't high for all the wrong reasons.
