I used to love Star Wars as a kid. Now they love to just keep milking this while idiot fans keep on gobbling up whatever garbge they shove out every year. Basically movie theaters are flooded with franchises that introduce nothing new and crowd out original content. I know movie studies have always been greedy and loved sequels, but it seems like it has reached a new high in the 2010s.
Then there is the endless merchandise, car decals, t-shirts, etc. Why do people willingly shill for these companies? People gladly pay to be walking advertisements for these mega studios. It makes me really sad that tons of people build their identities around these commercial products and are perfectly happy to see the industrial production practices applied to art.
It's disappointing the direction SW movies are going. I did like the Rebels and Clone wars cartoons.
