Some questions here. Mainly for other parents. Have you discussed this event as well as others with your children and if so how did you do it?

I recently made an AR15 as you might know. I am a very strong advocate for the ownership of firearms even for so called criminals dubbed by our society.

With my son (9 years old now) I explained the situation to him and more about the shooter and what we know by admission of those students still alive.

He was bullied and no one would listen. No one would help him with it, and actually let it continue. Now yesterday I showed my son the actual destruction power of this weapon.

It really hit home with him and how deadly this is. I also explained that my views about this are my own and they do not have to be his. He can decide either way if he chooses to learn about it or we can get rid of it.

First thing he said.

If police have this same gun why shouldn't we?

That is an American Patriot there in the making. I went further in explaining what his responsibility is as an American and what the 2nd amendment was made for.

How it was put in our right and responsibility as citizens to defend the nation from a tyrannical government.

He did agree that while it is a damn sad thing that the gun wasn't at fault as it was the kid for his own actions.
