I saw some article recently about using cheap Android phone to mess around with. Looking for a recommendation for cheap easy to root Android phone.

Further, what is some cool shit I can do once I have that?

my last two phone were refurbished Galaxy Notes (3 and 5), both under $200, stylus, everything works, plenty of how-tos for rooting and custom roms.

edit: under $10, oh wayy diff story

Doogee Titans. Seriously I could kill someone with this unit and I rooted it last week. It cost me £100 brand new about five years ago, should be well cheap now. Titans2.

How cheap is cheap?

Well the article, wish I'd have bookmarked it, spoke of $10 walmart phones.

I'm talking dirt cheap. But more importantly I want it to be something that has been successfully rooted by many, preferably with lots of documentation.

I don't even know what I want to do beyond rooting, other than deleting garbage apps that take up valuable space. I kinda want to practice on a 'throw away' before attempting on my expensive (to me) phone.

I have a rooted Motorola 2G. They cost something like $60-80. It is probably not worth buying a very cheap phone because there isn't a great deal you can do with it once it is rooted, even the Moto 2G does not have the power that I would ideally want it to have. I ran into a hiccup with my USB cable once I had unlocked the bootloader, but it was easily remedied and ended up being quite easy to root.

I just wanted to root it to remove bloatware and install some cracked paid apps. If it was more powerful I would probably put a security OS on it.
